Xiaomi Mi A1 vs Mi A2 Difference
Display: The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a bigger 5.99 inches display compared to Mi A1’s 5.5 inches display. While the newcomer comes with a better 18:9 aspect ratio, the pixel density remains the same (~403ppi). With a bigger display as well as a better aspect ratio, the Mi A2 offers more content on a single page and is good for those who love to watch videos on their phone.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 has a better Snapdragon 660 processor compared to Mi A1’s Snapdragon 625. The Mi A1 was available only in 4GB RAM variant but the newcomer comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. With a better processor, you can do intense gaming. I have played PUBG Mobile, Gangster Vegas and Shadow Fight 3 on Mi A2 without encountering any problems.
There has been a drastic change in the camera department. The newcomer comes with a combo of 12MP + 20MP sensors on the rear and a 20MP sensor at the front. In contrast, the Mi A1 has a combo of 12MP + 12MP sensors on the rear and a 5MP sensor at the front. While the megapixel is increased, key features like 2x Zoom have been removed from the newcomer. But yes, camera quality has been significantly improved.
In terms of battery, both smartphones are nearly similar. The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a slightly less powerful 3,010 mAh battery compared to Mi A1’s 3,080 mAh unit. What’s the noticeable difference that the newcomer supports Quick Charge 3.0 whereas the predecessor doesn’t have it.
The Mi A2 comes with several upgrades and especially I am happy with the performance as the handset didn’t disappoint me while doing intense gaming, though battery could be a problem. Other upgrades include a bigger battery and improved camera setup. So yes, I would say that it is worth upgrading to.
