Xiaomi launched its Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in the lower middle class section of India and it provides everything you need from the phone-Superior display of sub-15, excellent battery life and a good camera. Performance and storage
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 are both equipped with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, which is clock at 1.8 GHz. Since the processors are exactly the same and look at the same speed, only the real world usage and stress testing will separate the two devices. We saw in our Asus Smartphone Review that its ANTUU score is almost equivalent to the Xiamen Redmi Note 5 Pro which uses SD 636, which is in the past the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 by about 50 points.
One major advantage Asus’s device has over the Xiaomi smartphone is stock Android 8.1 Oreo. We were a bit disappointed when the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched running on Android Nougat, but the company has promised soon rolling out the latest Android flavour for the smartphone. You can read more about this in our in-depth review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro here and of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 here.
Display and design
In the display department, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a 5.99-inch FHD + IPS LCD universal display, which plays good viewing angles and good color reproduction. Asus Zenphone Max Pro M1 also plays a similar 6-inch FHD + IPS LCD panel with a long 18: 9 display, but the colors seem more vibrant than its rival.
In the case of design, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is not really standing out of the crowd, but thanks to this 5000 mAh battery, and functional because its minimum body is considered to be the center of performance. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has improved the design of its predecessors, but there is a clear camera collision with a dual rear camera, due to which you tap the phone rocks every time you place it on the flat surface.
The main camera on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro captures a good amount of detail and has a punchy colour reproduction, under ample lighting conditions and Low light image capabilities are equally good, with the camera exhibiting good dynamic range. The smartphone is equipped with a 12MP + 5MP dual rear cameras and a 20MP front-facing sensor.
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 camera leaves a lot to be desired but it’s not a bad camera per se. However, it cannot stand up to the ones seen on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Photos of Asus Zenfone Max Pro m1 can be considered average because highlights often slip and lack details of texture compared to the Xiamen offer. Asus Smartphone
